Death

Melancholic. Dark. Terrifying. Perplexing. Mystery. These few words are just some fine instances of a generic vocabulary which define or signal the conspiracy and final consequence of life, death. The valiant man who boasts of being ignorant and untouched by the fear of death cannot be believed.

We all live each day in order to secure ourselves from each risk that could stick on to us and each risk that could deprive us from living. We breathe in order to not die of suffocation. We eat in order to not fall prey to death out of starvation. We communicate in order to not give in front of the mighty death because of isolation.

Tamil Nadu’s Fight for Jallikattu

Eyes of the entire nation were filled with admiration and pride when we witnessed one of the most passionate, peaceful and non-violent protests of these times. It was on January 8, 2017 that the whole of Tamil Nadu came out in large numbers to protest for Jallikattu, a 5000 year old tradition which was banned by the Supreme court of India in May 2014. The ban on Jallikattu came after the Animal Welfare Board of India filed a case in the Supreme Court against it for the cruelty that it causes to animals.

A Letter that could never be Delivered…

On my wedding night, my father placed his hand on my head, without looking into my eyes and said, “I will pray for your happiness always. Remember that your smile is my strength and every drop of tear in your eyes burns my heart.” I just smiled, looked up at him and said, “All my smiles bid me a goodbye the day I saw him walking away from our house, without even looking back to see me for the last time, walking away from my life forever.”

That Incomplete yet Complete Lovestory!

Amidst the monotonous normalities rushing through my life, never did I expect a surprise as vibrant as you. Lost was I in the world of logics and practicalities when you stepped in bringing in the beauty of some senseless, illogical and utterly magical companionship. The vacuum that had vividly become a part of me was effortlessly being filled by the laughter and love you came with. The setting was so perfectly weaved. Astonishingly, a person as private as me, took no time to turn into an open book in front of you.It was as if the universe had conspired us to be what the world called ‘soulmates’.

The Fairy Tale

Broken yet strong. Sad yet always smiling. Stern yet so soft. She was tremendously capable to hide her fears, her pain, her subtle wishes and her innocent desires in a face that always was glowing out of made up happiness and her eyes which always swelled of non existent excitements. She everyday woke up like a pillar of power keeping her soft little heart safe from the world which she knew would never accept.

Fighting a battle which had no aim, she ran around with her spirits high and a statue of confidence which the entire world admired. Yes for the world she was just a fair pretty woman with an outstanding energy, some infatuating bubbliness and some fine brains. But she craved to be discovered more than that. She craved to be read more than her face and her brains only.

Smile once more Kashmir

Where the stream flows in raps of melodious music,

Where the sun glows in reddish orange,

Where the birds fly high up in chirps,

Where the snow falls like whites of blessings,

Where little girls with fair wrists dance in green bangles and smile with pink blush,

Lies our land of pride and beauty,

Lies our Heaven,

Lies our Kashmir.

No offense please!

Jumping on your sofas with a bowl of sizzling popcorns watching an India Pakistan cricket match doesn’t stand enough for your patriotism for the country. Watching the Independence Day parade in the morning on DD National and buying flags and the next very morning which are lying on the floor in a disrespectful manner is not enough to portray yourself as an Indian.

It’s high time that we as the citizens of the largest democracy in the world now stand united and prove our real concern for where the nation is actually heading to. It’s high time people that we now start thinking of what do we actually require to grow as a country. It’s high time that we now take up issues that practically concern us and tamper our development in any manner. It’s high time that now we as the youth of India cease giving any attention to issues of complete orthodoxy and mock at the concept of we being in the 70th year of our freedom.

Let her Shine…

She came out with a blush on her cheeks.. Let the blush not turn into blood.. She whined melodiously.. Let the melody not turn into a shriek of cry.. She ran around the house with a doll in her hand.. Let that doll not burn to ashes in the flames of desires for a boy.. She always played with her mother’s bangles.. Let the bangles not burden her own fair , tender wrists.. She looked up at her father with a sense full of pride.. Let the pride not change in fear and disgust..

She let her eyes get dazzled with dreams in them.. Let the society’s truth not blind the eyes.. She had a heart beating to live.. Let the heart not change into a lifeless stone..
